Estherville Citizen's Academy

We encourage all citizens to apply to attend the Estherville Citizen's Academy.

The academy meets once a week for 3-1/2 hours. The complete academy lasts 8 weeks. Most of the training is "hands on".

    We cover the following topics:

    S.W.A.T. operations
    drunk driving
    defensive tactics
    high-risk traffic stops
    gangs
    child abuse
    undercover operations
    child prostitution
    K-9
    firearms
    others

Upon graduation from the academy, each participant is awarded a diploma and given an academy T-shirt. There will be a background check conducted on all applicants.
